Sports & Public

Sports & Public Facility Construction.

Stadiums, aquatic centers, fairgrounds, and public assembly venues, all built for opening day.

WIL-Surge Electric is a municipal and sports facility contractor for stadiums, aquatic centers, fairgrounds, public works facilities, and public assembly venues across Wisconsin, including the sports lighting and AV that make them work on opening day. Much of that work is publicly bid, and our in-house crews carry the electrical, mechanical, and civil scopes for cities, counties, school districts, and the owners of Wisconsin's sports venues.

Sports Facilities & Fields

The Milwaukee Yard indoor sports complex

From baseball and football fields to stadiums, athletic complexes, and aquatic facilities, we install and upgrade sports lighting engineered for spill-light control and broadcast-quality output. Our crews handle LED retrofits, new pole installation, and maintenance programs that keep fields lit on game night. See our sports lighting contractors.

Inside the venue, our AV systems crews install integrated sound, scoreboards, and video boards, with the power and control wiring behind them. At Milwaukee Yard, a 100,000+ ft² indoor sports complex in Oak Creek, that meant power for turf fields and courts and high-efficiency sports lighting.

Municipal & Public Works

The West Allis DPW facility

Public works departments need facilities that keep a city running. We delivered complete electrical construction for the 310,000+ ft² West Allis DPW campus and comprehensive electrical for the City of Pewaukee's new DPW garage, from main service and distribution to repair- and wash-bay wiring, lighting, and site infrastructure.

Much of our municipal work is publicly bid, and we know the process. WIL-Surge Electric holds Wisconsin electrical contractor license #1103087-EC and HVAC contractor license #1029-HVACCONT, and our safety and prequalification documentation is ready for public owners.

Parks & Public Spaces

Cities, villages, and park districts rely on us to light municipal parks and public athletic fields. Beyond the field, we handle site lighting for parking lots and public spaces, with durable poles built to stand up to Wisconsin winters. Our crews handle the bases, poles, wiring, and fixtures, and our concrete crews pour equipment pads, so the whole installation stays under one contract.

Historic Public Buildings

The Cream Puff Pavilion at the Wisconsin State Fair

Historic buildings need modern power without losing what makes them special. At the Wisconsin State Fair, we upgraded the electrical for the historic Dairy Building, home of the Cream Puff Pavilion, with new power distribution for bakery equipment, skylight-tied lighting, and modernized infrastructure for the State Fair's iconic pavilion.

Our public-sector work also includes the five-story Wisconsin History Center in Madison, now under construction, and the 151,000 ft² Waukesha County Courthouse, an occupied renovation underway since 2023.
